Quinn shares a suspense story that revolves around trafficked women. Not only was there a suspenseful plot full of unexpected twists and turns, but the author gives the reader a sense of the stark lives of women taken into the sex trade and sold as cattle. The stark realities of their lives are vividly portrayed. The reader follows the life of Mae who bought into the possibility of a marriage to someone who would help her family and son - the problem is, this did not happen. Will Mae make her escape and be returned to her son? It is a well written story, I hesitate to say I enjoyed it because how can one enjoy something as horrific as sex-trafficking. One thing that Quinn did that I appreciate is she gave links to sites that the reader can explore to find out more about this horrific crime. I highly recommend this book.Product details

I Take This Woman edition by Suzy K Quinn Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks Reviews
Every woman should read this...we need a massive appeal / Demand to the United Nations to take serious action to stop sex slave trading!
Shockingly interesting and sad. I have heard so much about the sex in Thailand but had not read anything on the subject. I really was moved by the story.
A raw and gritty exposé of Thailand's underbelly the "love for sale trade", where girls are bought and sold like cattle and where even those who promise them the relative freedom of marriage may have something quite different in mind. . .
"Help me give a voice to the people out here who don't have one," prays Ruby, a British filmmaker overwhelmed by the abject misery surrounding her. A documentary-maker, she used to make a difference with her work. Now, her employer Bright Light TV is two weeks away from closing the doors and the repo men are already trying to take the computers. But there's one story left to tell, a story that starts with the horrifying image of a dismembered Thai girl who supposedly had fled the dangerous trafficking world through an arranged marriage with a rich foreigner.
Ruby goes undercover with one of her coworkers, Anders, a Swedish camera expert whose seemingly breezy approach to morality made her write him off a long time ago. Together, they explore the world of massage parlors, brothels, sex clubs, and arranged Thai-Western marriages - where women keep ending up dead. Friends are not always what they seem, though, and the stunning realization of who is behind these murders leaves them both shaken - and in danger.
Telling this story could win them the People's Choice Awards and save Bright Light TV. Or it could get them both killed.
I was very impressed that this book took on the very real tragedy of sex trafficking. The setting is in Thailand and the story revolves a documentary film maker who sets out to expose a marriage agency she suspects of dealing in the trafficking industry. The story leaves the reader with a new awareness of what these women go through when they are bought and sold.
This was an truly interesting story about trafficking, from the victim's side and the rescuer's viewpoint. It was a fast read, since it took you on an amazing journey through the life of a woman with a dream to let the victim's voice be heard. I loved the how this writer would describe scenes, it was like you were there. I would definetly purchase another book by this author.
It was exciting in spots but it got bogged down with too much detail on what was happening in the sex trade . I was not prepared mentally for the depth of the story that could be a true one. It was not really light reading. It was an eye opener for me though. Good thriller but not a romance story.
Finished I Take This Woman (Trafficked) (still free as of time of writing) last night and it is still with me. Fiction with a true crime feel about the trafficking human trade in Thailand, horrendous but written with a very strong compassion for the terrible situation so many of the victims are in. Not sensationalist or exploitative, but harrowing and eye-opening. Recommended.
